About the Presenter: Charles Ramsey is the founder and President of EnviroStat, Inc., a company that provides training in sampling and laboratory subsampling for defensible decisions to federal and state agencies as well as private companies. He has a BA in Chemistry from the University of Denver and a MS in Environmental Science from the Colorado School of Mines. The field of sampling can be broken into two broad fields: finite element and infinite element. Survey sampling and most QC sampling falls under the category of finite element sampling. The other type of sampling, infinite sampling, is much more complicated. This type of sampling should be utilized when the elements of the population are too numerous (or too difficult) to be collected individually. Examples are soil, water, and grain. When sampling these types of materials, there are other considerations beyond finite element sampling such as the particle size of the material being collected.

Collins for approximately 1 mile, the HP campus will be on the North side of the road - Take the 2nd entrance into the HP Campus (do not turn at the light for Lady Moon Drive, go to the second entrance co-labeled HP & Avago) - Turn in and go straight into a circular parking lot, keep to your right and park anywhere on the right side of the circle - At the NE corner of the circular lot is the Building 3 Lobby sign, go into the lobby, tell the security guard you’re there for the ASQ meeting and sign in - Mike Adamson or the security attendant will be there to escort everyone from the lobby to the conference room which is just down the hall
